Job Description

roject Scope: Leading the connectivity and data integration of diverse manufacturing assets (Manual to CNC) into a centralized SCADA/MES environment to enable advanced data analytics.

Role Objective

The OT Engineer will be the technical linchpin between the physical shopfloor and the digital reporting layers. You will design and implement the communication bridge between Machine X, Y, and Z and the Local Server (VM SCADA/Database), ensuring a seamless flow of “Shopfloor Data” for the “Data Analysis and Reporting” ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Implementation & Connectivity (Individual Goals)

·        Hardware Integration: Establish data connections for a variety of shopfloor assets, including legacy manual machines and modern CNC controllers.

·        Systems Architecture: Maintain and configure the Local Server environment, specifically managing VM SCADA and VM Database instances as shown in the system architecture.

·        Data Pipeline Management: Ensure reliable transmission of shopfloor data to the MES (ABMS) and integration with “Other Systems & Data Sources.”

·        Release Management: Drive the architectural release for Cluster 1 (CH1) and conduct gap analysis for future replication to CH2/LBC.

2. Project Strategy & Validation (Team Goals)

·        Pilot Execution: Successfully connect the pilot machine to validate the Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

·        Use Case Development: Collaborate with the project team to define and implement data-driven use cases that provide operational value.

·        Quality Assurance: Lead Key User Acceptance Tests (KUAT) to ensure the digital solution meets the needs of shopfloor operators and plant management.

Technical Profile Requirements

Education & Experience:

·        Degree in Automation Engineering, Industrial Informatics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

·        Proven experience in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) or Shopfloor Digitalization projects.

Technical Skills:

·        Protocols: Proficiency in industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, Profibus/Profinet).

·        Software: Experience with SCADA systems, MES (specifically ABMS or similar), and Virtual Machine (VM) management.

·        Data: Basic SQL knowledge for VM Database management and data mapping.

·        CNC Knowledge: Familiarity with CNC controllers (e.g., Siemens, Fanuc, Heidenhain) to extract operational parameters.

Soft Skills:

·        Strong analytical mindset for “Gap Analysis.”

·        Ability to work in a cross-functional team (IT, Production, and Maintenance).

·        Proactive approach to troubleshooting connectivity issues in a “live” manufacturing environment.
