• Redhat Linux 6.7 upwards.
• Redhat Satellite
• VMWare
• Solaris 11 and ZFS
• Solaris VM Server & Zones
• Veritas VCS (Infoscale Availability)
• BoKS (Core Privilege Access Manager)
• Desirable:
• Familiarity with: • ServiceNow • Puppet/Ansible/Chef configuration management software • Monitoring software such as Xymon, and Dynatrace • DNS/InfoBlox/NTP/PTP • The candidate should be able to build a test VCS clusters, and engage different teams to put their app on it (Oracle, UDB, MQ)
• The candidate should be familiar with RDM/VMDK/VMDK multi-writer and have experience with VCS and CFS.
• The candidate should be able to do testing, i.e., every time a new redhat kernel is released, test it with the VCS version and decide whether we need to patch/upgrade VCS as well.
• The candidate should produce a solution and a detailed procedure and revise it every few months when new redhat kernel releases.
• The candidate should be involved in the scheduling stage of the change in case the application has specific downtime requirement that deviates from the original procedure and should be able to adapt procedure to suit.
• The candidate should execute the upgrade on the scheduled day, with no Unix involvement, and be prepared if something goes wrong using backout plans validated during testing.
• If any issue encountered during testing or even during the actual upgrade, the candidate would raise and own a Veritas support case and help resolve it.
