Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Android Telephony Engineer with 3–6 years of hands-on experience in Android telephony frameworks, modem platforms, and cellular regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AOSP telephony/RIL customizations, modem configuration, and certification processes, with a solid foundation in Java/C programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Telephony Framework & RIL Development
- Customize and enhance Android telephony framework and Radio Interface Layer (RIL).
- Debug and resolve telephony/RIL issues across diverse device platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate telephony features into AOSP builds.
- Modem Platform Expertise
- Work extensively with Qualcomm or MediaTek modem platforms.
- Configure frequency bands and parameters to meet regulatory, protocol conformance, and country-specific requirements.
- Optimize modem performance for diverse deployment scenarios.
- eSIM & LPA Integration
- Implement and manage eSIM profiles using Local Profile Assistant (LPA).
- Support eSIM provisioning, activation, and troubleshooting.
- Regulatory & Certification Support
- Drive compliance for cellular regulatory approvals (FCC, IC).
- Support PTCRB and country-specific certifications.
- Prepare technical documentation and assist in certification testing.
- Advanced Telephony Features
- Contribute to IMS stack development and optimizations.
- Support VoLTE, ViLTE, and Video Telephony (VT) features.
- Ensure compatibility with 4G/5G specifications and evolving standards.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Android telephony framework and RIL.
- Proven track record of AOSP telephony/RIL customizations, debugging, and issue resolution.
- Deep expertise in Qualcomm or MTK modem platforms.
- Experience with eSIM (LPA) profiles.
- Knowledge of cellular regulatory approvals (FCC/IC, PTCRB).
- Solid understanding of 4G/5G specifications.
- Familiarity with IMS, VoLTE, ViLTE, VT.
- Proficiency in Java and C programming.
