Job Description
Lead, mentor and inspire team members to reach their individual potential, whilst supporting department objectives
Influence the direction of services, technical standards and guidelines at team and department level
- Generate and implement technical process improvements
- Hold team members accountable within their roles and empower them within your team
- Improve engineering quality and efficiency within my team and department (e.g. encourage pairing, code review, etc.)
Skills or qualifications:
- Deep knowledge of Java and Spring Framework. Experienced in Mobile development with exposure to iOS & Android development.
- Agile practices and development through BDD/TDD, using associated tools for testing and continuous integration & deployment
- Design and development of RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture.
- Experience with AWS (or other Cloud Providers)
- Building strong, motivated teams
- Drive innovation within the team, implementing a culture of experimentation to solve large problems or issues
- Actively seek out, own and resolve blocking problems at individual, team and department level
