Infrastructure and App Remediation

Job Description

We are seeking a highly capable Infrastructure & Application Remediation Engineer to analyse, assess, and propose improvements across infrastructure, platforms, and applications with a focus on reducing technical debt, configuration weaknesses, and platform risk.

This role centers on turning complex technical findings into practical remediation outcomes—whether through hands-on fixes, scripting and automation, or producing clear implementation guidance for other engineering teams.

You will work across multiple technology stacks, helping uplift baseline configurations, improve platform resilience, and drive consistent technical standards across the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse technical findings, platform assessments, and system health reports.
  • Assess risk, impact, and priority of identified issues.
  • Design pragmatic remediation approaches for infrastructure, platforms, and applications.
  • Implement fixes directly where appropriate (patching, configuration changes, hardening).
  • Develop scripts or automation for repeatable or large-scale remediation.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and implementation guides.
  • Work with infrastructure, network, database, and development teams to coordinate remediation.
  • Validate and verify improvements after changes are implemented.
  • Identify recurring patterns of technical debt and propose long-term improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of configuration baselines and technical standards.
  • Track remediation progress and outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in infrastructure and application troubleshooting.
  • Experience remediating configuration, patching, and platform-level issues.
  • Solid understanding of Windows, networking fundamentals, and server platforms.
  • Familiarity with encryption, certificates, and secure communications.
  • Experience working with databases (Oracle, SQL Server) from a configuration perspective.
  • Ability to interpret scanning or assessment outputs and turn them into actionable tasks.
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Comfortable working across both infrastructure and application teams.
  • Strong technical documentation skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with configuration frameworks or baselines (e.g., CIS, NIST).
  • Exposure to DevOps / DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience in large enterprise or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with patch management and deployment tooling.
  • Cloud platform experience.
